Holographic Optical Trapping and Force Measurement System

Addressing the challenges of manipulating and interrogating the interaction between hard and soft nanomaterials in their native environments and integrating these components into composite nanomaterials and functional devices

The Arryx BioRyx 200 optical trapping system, also known as laser tweezers, is capable of capturing and manipulating microscopic particles. Ideal for measuring viscoelastic measurements of soft and biological materials as well as providing insights into motive mechanisms of biomolecular motors.

Capabilities include:

  • Programmable, real-time 3D control of objects as small as 20 nm in diameter.
  • Produce up to two hundred optical traps in any configuration within the field of view.
  • Measure trap stiffness in the range of 0.1–900 pN per micron.
  • Temporal/spatial resolution of 100 kHz and nanometer-scale resolution.
