Ryan Wixom is a materials scientist at Sandia National Laboratories and the Acting CINT Co-Director. Ryan has a broad range of research experience using both computational and experimental techniques to understand how atomic to microscale structure manifest in materials properties and performance. His research includes surfactant effects on epitaxial growth of III-Vs, properties of 2D materials, interaction of shock waves with heterogenious materials, and electron microscopy of energetic materials. He is currently interested in Machine Learning for image analysis and agentic research with Large Language Models including ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.
